Dennis N. Johnson, 55, of Ida, MI, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in his home. Born May 12, 1958 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Norman and Odilla (Meiring) Johnson. He worked for the City of Toledo for the past 28 years, starting with the water department moving to the building permit department, then later working as building and sign inspector. Dennis always had a warm smile and was eager to help people however he could. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 514, SAL and the USBC for many years. He was an avid golfer and bowler, acquiring four 300 rings, a 299 and an 800 series ring. Dennis loved spending time with his family and inspired many people with his courageous battle with cancer. His positive attitude and strong love for life impressed all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Camille Johnson. Daughter, Nicole Johnson. Stepchildren, Danielle (Daniel) Marvin, Raymond Pasler, and Thomas Betkey. Sisters, Peggy Degnan and Debbie (Doug) Winkler. Nephews, Jerry McBee, Rob Solon, Jr., Dustin (Sandy) Winkler, and Jaymee Lado. Nieces, Shanna and Sabrina McBee. Grandchildren, Ryan Pasler and Elliott Marvin. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Solon.
Visitation will be from 1-5 pm Sunday, January 26, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 5:00 pm.
